Psychologist & Early Childhood

From one mom to another:
This morning, I am at the psychologist's office with my child. The short
weekly sessions are intended to help my daughter build self-confidence and
reduce her anxiety.
While we were coloring in the waiting room, I saw a child come out crying. My throat tightened at the sight of such a little being in so much pain. I could feel a deep sadness in this child. I immediately looked at their mother with compassion. At that moment, it was as if I had connected with this mother's pain and worry for her child. I got chills and even had to hold back tears.
I realized then that we all face similar challenges with our little ones. One of the roots that connect us as mothers is the worry we have for our children, regardless of their ages and regardless of the different stages of their lives.
For me, the hardest thing about being a mother is the constant worry I have and will have for the rest of my life for my children. It is a healthy worry, but one that sometimes eats away at me from the inside and sometimes keeps me from sleeping. A worry that drives me to keep learning and improving myself as a mother.
As I was saying to a friend: "being a mother means never having a free mind."
In fact, your children are constantly part of all your daily thoughts. They will always be your number one priority, but never forget yourself, beautiful mom.

To my daughter: I promise you that I will do my best to give you a happy childhood. Life will not be easy: you will have to face your fears, you will experience pain, you will experience injustices, and perhaps even anxiety. Life can sometimes be cruel, but you know, I will do everything in my power to give you strength, resilience, and confidence to face the journeys of life.
